Bones-studio Wins Best in Show at Architectural Digest Design Show

New York, NY March 24, 2018- Raleigh, NC furnishings company, bones-studio, was awarded Best in Show of MADE at the Architectural Digest Design Show. The NY Metro chapter of American Society of Interior Designers judged selected winners for their annual Best of Awards. Bones-studio sits squarely in the MADE section of the AD design show, as each piece of functional art is designed and crafted by Ryan Dart on site in Raleigh, NC. Bones-studio debuted several new additions, including a settee, a mirror, and wall art to their Quarry Collection of furniture at the AD Design Show. “I would put the Architectural Digest show as one of the top five interior and furniture design shows in the world. To receive best in show at this caliber of venue is an honor and one of the highlights of my career.” Says Dart.

The 17th annual Architectural Digest Design Show is a curated collection of furniture, accessories, lighting, art and building products. It was held on March 22-25th, 2018, at Piers 92 & 94 in New York, New York.

Bones-studio was created in 2014 by industrial designer and furniture pioneer Ryan Dart.  The structure of the pieces at bones Studio can be described as organic modern. “It’s amazing what you can do with a computer, 3D printer, and traditional tools. I am making furniture in a way that could not have been made or even imagined 20 years ago.”

The Quarry Collection, designed with its intricate intersections of marine-grade Baltic birch, is the most popular collection of furnishings by bones-studio. This collection has a unique illusive quality to it: at a glance it can appear to be one solid piece, even upholstered, but up close one will find that it is in fact intersected wood with negative space. The collection is inspired by Dart’s upbringing near a dinosaur quarry in Northeastern Utah.
