Titania given the Royal seal of approval for cyber intelligence innovation

  • Titania awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, the highest official award that can be bestowed on a UK business
  • Company founded by an innovative  entrepreneur working in ethical hacking and cyber defence
  • Uniquely intelligent technology automates the detailed cyber vulnerability assessment of top industry consultants

A Queen’s Award for Innovation is the highest official award that can be given to a UK business – and in 2017 it was presented to Titania as proof of the company’s growth, innovation and success.

The brainchild of a cyber intelligence specialist in the security sector, Titania comes from humble beginnings; but, with a truly unique technology offering, founder and CEO, Ian Whiting, has proven that his company is open for big business – prestigious clients include the U.S. Department of Defense, DoE, DoA, VA & US Treasury as well as the UK government, FBI, PayPal, and Deloitte.

Nicola Whiting, COO at Titania said “To me, the Queen stands for everything that is right and good about the UK; during the war she worked as a mechanic and military driver, she also insisted on not being evacuated. To receive an award from someone who has shown unfailing strength in a time of constant attack, is a true honor and a fitting analogy when thinking about the vigilance and foresight needed for cyber security.”

In the past eight years, Titania has grown from a start-up to an enterprise serving 95 countries worldwide, defending over 27 million end points. “90% of business is from exports and America is a major market for Titania” continued Whiting “it’s a great place to do business as they’re very open to new innovations, particularly those that increase operational efficiency and defense.”

Recent research from cyber security association (ISC)2 highlights, the critical skills gap in cyber, with a predicted shortfall of 1.8m cyber security workers by 2022. Technology and smart automation can help to overcome this global issue, increase operational efficiency and ensure that the cyber security essentials are always covered.

Titania’s core technologies - Nipper Studio and Paws Studio – intelligently automate labour-intensive line by line analysis of configuration and operating system data with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The solutions give pentesters and enterprise teams detailed analysis of systems defences, monitoring capabilities, any exploitable vulnerabilities, and non-compliance with regulations such as CIS, STIG, SANS, NSA, NERC and PCI. Titania’s unique virtual modelling technology also builds human understanding into how device settings interact with each other, giving an accurate picture of security and compliance with precise risks and remediation actions. So adding Titania's configuration analysis to enterprise security solutions provides a true baseline of accurate information that helps prepare the organization for fully autonomous mitigation and self-healing systems.

The Queen’s Award was presented by the Royal Family at a special ceremony in 2017.
