WALLAROO HAT COMPANY MAKES GENEROUS DONATION TO THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
BOULDER, Colo. –Wallaroo Hat Company recently donated over 1,000 turbans and headscarves to the American Cancer Society. These, fashionable, yet functional collection of headscarves and turbans are made for women who have lost their hair due to a medical condition. They will be distributed in California, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Connecticut and Florida.
When Wallaroo Hat Company decided to discontinue their Christine collection they were left with over one thousand pieces of remaining stock. The collection was designed to help women experiencing hair loss continue to look and feel attractive. Instead of looking at the remaining stock as a burden the company saw it as an opportunity to give back.
“The American Cancer Society is committed to improving the quality of life of cancer patients. We are very grateful for Wallaroo’s generous donation because it will help patients cope with the appearance-related side effects of their treatment,” says Elaine Mathis Senior Program Manager of American Cancer Society, Inc.
Wallaroo will donate the remaining pieces from the Christine collection, valued at more than $40,000, to the American Cancer Society. This donation will allow the organization to provide women going through chemotherapy treatment, which causes hair loss, much-needed sun protection and soothing warmth in cold weather.
Wallaroo Hat Company has pledged their commitment to organizations dedicated to cancer treatment and prevention through this donation and continues to fulfill their commitment annually by donating a portion of their profits to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
