French story & a lifestyle //
No brand without a story, no credibility without a well
thought out strategy : it was on the basis of this philosophy
that 727Sailbags was built. By setting up at the outset in
the heart of Sailing Valley, in Lorient, the crossroads of the
offshore racing stables where a large number of used sails
pass through.
« Although at present, we collect sails from almost all over
the world, it was unthinkable for us to set up our offices
and our workshop anywhere else than in the heart of
Sailing City. It’s in our DNA », says Erwann Goullin, managing
director of this young company, already a partner of
the greatest races
The raw materials?
Whether it is the leather - from Paris - the straps, made in
Normandy or the acrylic, which comes from the Northem
region of France, sourcing is a priority for the business.
This desire to purchase and produce locally as far as
possible was automatic and natural so as to anchor the
values of the brand : authenticity, quality, heritage. The
use of local know-how seemed so totally obvious. And the
traceability of every item too.
The certificate of authenticity sewn inside every product
enables the maritime history of the piece of sailcloth used
to be tracked: Which ocean did it navigate on ? Which
races did it win ? Each happy owner of a 727Sailbags
product makes a part of the voyage his or her own...
Innovative products , an original design //
Super strong bags, accessories with contemporary
decoration, 727Sailbags has managed to combine
innovation and a casual style which is always very
chic. With the use of high added value technical
materials : such as Dacron® for its properties of
flexibility and high strength, carbon and Kevlar® –
fibres with a technical square pattern, highly valued
by the racing yachts – and which are used for the
most high-tech parts, or the spinnaker sails, which
are lighter and ideal for making bean bags, cushions
and some inserts and yokes for items of clothing.

Eric Tabarly, The Everest of the seas, the 34th America’s
Cup … so many races, feats and legendary figures which
have inspired the 727sailbags collectors’ series since
the start of the adventure.
These capsule collections, that come along and give
rhythm to the life of the company, are now part of the
brand’s DNA, a reference in the design of recycled
sails.
