Casting craftsman  Mr.Rikucho Ogasawara.

Born in Mizusawa, Iwate in 1929.

Until his passing in 2012, a craftsman Rikucho Ogasawara had devoted his lifetime to design and produce various ironwares at his work shop in Iwate. Based on more than 60 years of career, he has been using two major techniques of traditional Nambu Ironware, the "Namagata" which can only handle simple shapes but suits mass production and the "Sougata" which involves complex processes and the sophisticated technique to make ironware for our daily lives.

From the art objects with solid presence to practical tools like miniature pans and traditional iron kettles, he creates simple and modern articles of incomparable quality which also have the depth and warmth unique to iron.

The unique feature of Nambu Ironware.

It retains heat very well so you can enjoy your foods and beverages hot and tasty.  Additionally, it heightens the iron content, so recommended especially for female.
