About Shuro broom
The material of the broom, ‘shuro’ is a kind of palm tree. It is a tropical-looking tree with many of its palm-shaped leaves growing from the top of the tree. The ‘hair’ (bark) of the tree is an excellent material as it is flexible and soft, but at the same time, tough and durable.
Shuro broom is made with the bark that wraps the trunk of the tree. It is water resistant and durable, and the fiber of the shuro’s bark catches small dirt such as dusts and hairs, and you can clean up hard-to-see tiny dirt without kicking them up in the air. The fiber has some oil to it, and it is said to give luster, which is different from wax, to the surfaces.
