This panel will focus on next generation operations and control for the distribution grid. It will include discussions of Grid 3.0, EPRI’s Integrated Grid, GMS and other efforts that are working to allow penetrations of DER that exceed 50% of total annual energy usage. Included in the discussion with be the concepts of a single Grid Management System (GMS), discussion of the concept of a retail market with peer to peer interaction, as well as 3rd party aggregators and the impact of a Distribution System Operator.
