BULK ENERGY STORAGE INTEGRATION: BEST PRACTICES (Room C140)

05 May 16
10:15 AM - 12:15 PM

Tracks: Panel Session

Integrating energy storage into power systems is growing around the world. The nature of this technology is such that it acts as a load when charging and as a generator when discharging. This makes this technology capable of providing various services to the power grid, from transmission level to customer site. While there is consensus on what energy storage is capable of doing for the grid, there are many issues that need to be understood in order to capture the full value offered by energy storage. During this panel practitioners from industry, regulatory bodies and academia will come together to discuss some of the barriers, challenges and best practices of large-scale energy storage integration, and the path forward.
