Important Lessons for Successful Projects
SMS group is supplying all plants, including the X-Pact® electrical and automation systems, for the new nini-mill complex at Big River Steel in Arkansas. Among others, highlights are the CSP mill material property model, the new X-Pact drives low-voltage converters, the homogeneous automation system in all plants, the tunnel furnace dynamic furnace control, the intelligent control of the furnace in the CGL, and the efficient and flexible planning system that enables also the production of small batches of special steels. First results of the start-up will be displayed and also main topics of this project.
