The climate changes undergone by Earth in recent decades have made mankind seek solutions and proposals to minimize this challenge. In order to propose targets for reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, the Kyoto Protocol was held in 1997; its main objective was to establish devices for CO2 reduction and to encourage countries to propose clean development mechanisms for carbon “kidnapping.” Alternative materials are used in the manufacture of products in this sector, as it is known that the construction industry stands out as an emitting source of CO2. In this context, this study quantifies the CO2 emissions of green bricks in the steel production process and waste of iron ore concentrate. A satisfactory result in reducing CO2 emissions from this type of brick by using the QE-CO2 method was observed.
