The IAAPA Career Slam is a program that provides college students with a rare opportunity to network and learn from leaders and veterans of our industry. Career Slam is not a job fair-it’s a chance to network with managers, executives, and other seasoned amusement industry professionals. Roundtable discussions are the heart of the Slam! You will sit elbow-to-elbow with successful industry professionals, and learn about their work, their companies, and the career paths and decisions that have helped them succeed.

Who Should Attend? Career Slam is open to current full-time and part-time college students who are interested in pursuing a career in any of the following:

•   Amusement Parks

•   Resorts

•   Aquariums

•   Show and Attractions Management

•   Attraction Industry Design

•   Theme Parks

•   Family Entertainment Centers (FEC)

•   Tourism

•   Hospitality

•   Water Parks

•   Museums and Science Centers

•   Zoos and Aquariums

Who Will Attendees Meet? The IAAPA Human Resources Subcommittee is sponsoring this event and has arranged for professionals from several very different companies, representing a range of operational areas to participate.

Speakers will rotate regularly throughout the session, so students will meet several experts and gain a variety of new perspectives and insights into the types of career paths and opportunities our industry creates.

Do I Need to Register to Attend? Yes. Registration is required for this event; however, registration to the IAAPA Attractions Expo is not required. There is no fee to attend, but space is limited, and registration will fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is available online. Once you have registered, simply show up at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018. Suggested attire is business casual.
