Program Abstract: According to the CDC (2017) up to 50% of the time antibiotics are not optimally prescribed, either being prescribed when not needed or at an incorrect dosage or duration. Utilizing antibiotic stewardship principles and improving antibiotic prescribing in all health care settings is a critical component in combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This original research will evaluate the effect of utilizing an educational peer review process for college health providers that incorporates evidence-based standard of care guidelines regarding antibiotic use in the college health setting.
