During World War II, approximately 120,000 Japanese Americans living on the west coast, two-thirds of them American citizens, were taken from their homes and interned in concentration camps run by the United States government. This presentation will begin with a summary of the facts, recount the experience of internees related to the speakers, and explain the role of midwestern cities in facilitating their release and relocation.
