Vision, Perception, and the Brain (Room JW Grand Ballroom 10)

Perception of the visual world is a complex process. It is regulated by anatomy, physiology, and higher-order cognitive processing. This presentation will give an overview of the eye, the visual pathway through the brain, and the visual cortex. It will explore how the physiology of these areas impacts vision and perception in both healthy patients and those with pathology. The presentation will also include demonstrations and explanations of numerous optical illusions.
