JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) was established in April, 2015 as a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Chubu Electric Power Company encompassing the entire energy supply chain from upstream fuel investment and fuel procurement through power generation. In oversea domain of power generation business, with total net capacity of 8 GW in Asia, North/Central America, and Middle East, JERA has successfully established high efficiency in operation and maintenance, demonstrating its abilities and strengths cultivated as utilities. JERA continuously aims at further growth in global power generation business toward future. Meanwhile, in response to strict environment protection policies, JERA engineers have been pursuing high efficiency over years in such world’s top class generation facilities as USC coal-fired and LNG combined cycle power plants. Recently, JERA is also considering renewable energy project development. JERA introduces the challenges for renewable energy integration as well as to the future visions for sustainability in low carbon society.
