Wind direction measurements cannot always be avoided at a wind vanes dead band. The dead band due to 600 data points taken during a 10-minute data set and measurement scatter could affect a much larger section of the wind vane’s direction data. The focus of the comparison is to analyze 1 second data to determine the effect the dead band has on wind direction measurements during a 10-minute data set.
