Ignacio Galiana, Program Manager, Wearable Robotics, Wyss Institute at Harvard University
Soft exosuits are lightweight systems that feel and move like clothing but are designed to offload strain from the back during physically strenuous tasks. Sensors detect the wearer’s movements, and adaptive algorithms dynamically adjust the support provided so that the soft exosuit is “transparent” during non-lifting activities. Dr. Galiana will showcase the next generation of soft exosuit technology designed to mitigate injury risk and improve productivity for industrial workers involved in lifting and reaching tasks.
