ID #169-Neurocounseling: How To Translate Brain-Based Knowledge to Clients (Room 517A)

Explaining client distress and dysfunction through brain-based education is a vital counseling skill, requiring the ability for the counselor to translate complex neurobiological anatomy and functioning into a more accessible format for clients. To assist counselors in developing this skill, this session will introduce core principles from the neuroscience literature. Counselors will practice using brain anatomy models and figures to explain the workings of the brain through a role-play.
