The purpose of this talk will be to review the network security guidelines as outlined in NIAP and FISMA as they apply to modern high performance networks.
Specifically this course will examine the relevant security controls from NIST 800-53 and apply them to the high performance networking environment. The course will cover the following areas:
- Encryption, both for data protecting and network command and control
- Authentication, with particular emphasis on SDN networks
- Logging and auditing requirements
- Configuration management requirements
- Administrator roles and functions, separation of duties, Access controls
- Certification requirements, NIAP, FISMA, and FedRamp - common characteristics and differences
