Teresa Fisher thought cruising the Amazon River would be fascinating, primitive, strange, and filled with sights not seen in Indiana. In 2014 she discovered she was right. She saw all kinds of unusual animals, fished for piranha, met a shamaness, ate capybara, saw lily pads that were six feet across, encountered an aggressive and venomous bushmaster snake up close, and did what a bear does in the woods in someone’s back yard in a riverfront village. It was the trip of a lifetime.
