(O205) Helping Teens Process the Ostomy Event (Room 201)

This session presents a theoretical framework that was developed from a qualitative study with teens (13-18 years of age) examining how teens
process the event of having an ostomy.  The theory sheds light on how  teens  process the experience of having an ostomy and how healthcare providers can help the teen move thru the process to get back to their desired “normal” state.
