In a success story from another part of the world, an aid group in Ethiopia partnered with clinicians, technicians, and a medical device company to address the stark reality that life-saving equipment is often unavailable. In 2014, Jhpiego-Ethiopia procured Universal Anesthesia Machines (UAMs) from Gradian Health Systems and then helped to develop strategies, involving training and warranties, to ensure their effective use and maintenance.
