Making, Marketing and Selling Design in a 24/7 world

In the contemporary landscape, marketing and selling design requires equal parts creativity, grit and patience. It is no longer enough to open a store and wait for customers to walk through the doors. Public relations, social media, online marketing, various sales channels, bricks and mortar showrooms/stores – some combination of all of these tactics are required to stand out among the competition and get the attention of potential clients. This conversation with several established and up-and-coming designers/makers – each with a very different approach to making and to production – will explore a variety of different strategies and approaches and discuss the costs, challenges, and potential pitfalls and upsides of each.
