Tracks: Talent Acquisition

Since its founding in 1969, Wendy’s has been a fast food innovator – from perfecting the pick-up window and being the first national chain to introduce a salad bar to creating the first value menu. The company has continued to grow and innovate in the United States and across the globe with more than 5,600 restaurants, 95 percent of which are franchised. Committed to carrying on their founder Dave’s legacy of being known for good food and nice people, Wendy’s doubled down on its learning and development initiatives to create a positive learner experience and drive business results. The company is seeing more than 10,000 course completions per day totaling more than 3 million courses per quarter. At the restaurant level, the company created 25 certifications, and has seen that the stores with crew members who have completed 13 or more certifications have higher sales, faster speed of service, improved customer satisfaction scores, and increased employee engagement and retention. Coley O’Brien will share how Wendy’s has implemented a culture of learning across the organization and discuss the impact it’s made.
