We have the data, but is it ready for consumption? How much data engineering is required to make sense of it properly? The consequences of misunderstanding raw data could be monumental. In this paper, I will talk about some of the things we have done at ConocoPhillips to make data analytics-ready, minimize risk, and save time for geoscientists. I will use 2 examples in which we took raw vended well and production data and presented it in a more familiar format, accessible for analytics and deeper data science.
