One-Stop Solution to Reduce Emissions (NOx, SOx, PM and Hg) and Wastewater Discharge for Coal-Fired Power Plants (Room Garuda 12, 1st Floor)

To comply with the tightening of emissions regulations, conventional AQCS (Air Quality Control System) including SCR, DESP and WFGD systems should be improved. We have provided one-stop solution to eliminate NOx, PM and SOx in flue gas and developed AQCS to upgrade such technologies, as well as to remove toxic trace elements, such as Hg. Regarding SCR system, NH3 dispersing grids and high-functioning catalysts are key technologies to reduce NOx emission, its rapid deterioration and sever erosion by high-ash-content coals. Our promising technologies to meet PM regulation are as follows: 1)High-performance PM removal system which combines a heat exchanger and DESP to adjust the flue gas temperature around 90 to 100°C, thereby achieving high PM collection efficiency. 2)DESP equipped with Moving Electrode to decrease fine PM entrained in the flue gas during collecting electrode hammering. Our wet FGD tower with perforated tray that improves SO2 removal without large increase of pressure loss is very cost-effective to meet new SO2 regulation as well as conversion from conventional Grid tower to DCFS (Double Contact Flow Scrubber) to achieve higher performance and reliability without re-installing new scrubber. To comply with Hg emissions regulations, the key technologies are as follows: 1)SCR catalyst developed by making both mutually opposing functions of high Hg oxidation and low SO2-to-SO3 conversion activity compatible. 2)High-performance PM removal system mentioned above to promote Hg adsorption onto ash particles, thereby enhancing the removal across DESP. 3)FGD system with ORP control to inhibit Hg re-emission. This paper describes our one-stop solution mentioned above, including several commercial plants in south-eastern Asia. We also developed WSD (Waste-water Spray Dryer). This brand new ZLD(Zero Liquid Discharge) facility dries up waste water by introduced flue gas from upstream of APH. Trace elements behavior around WSD is also discussed.
