As turbine heights and rotor diameters continue to increase, with increasingly stringent regulations, turbine siting becomes increasing constrained due to shadow flicker impacts on residences. Resultantly, projects suffer diminished energy production and overall net project value. This presentation will discuss current shadow flicker modeling methods, examine the relevant inputs, and discuss the energy impacts in wind farm design.
