Digital twins empower construction teams with exact virtual replicas of their sites and assets, providing a referenceable record of pre-and post-design plans. Captured via drone, LiDAR, hand-held camera or other sources, digital twins help make project management of construction sites more efficient and operational. These digital models help both the everyday boots-on-the-ground team as well as boards and stakeholders better inspect and understand the project. The on-site team is able to more easily track, predict and act on the environments in real time versus constantly sending human workers to inspect different areas (which can be a physically demanding and sometimes dangerous task) – while stakeholders can better understand the project scope, building modeling and task progress from anywhere. This information can also be shared with owners and architects involved in the project, providing one source of truth to review and ultimately saving on travel and time.
