Matthew Hebdon
Assistant Professor
Virginia Tech
Matt started working at Virginia Tech in August after completing his PhD at Purdue University. Matt's research emphasis is on fatigue and fracture of steel built-up members. His research has included in-depth investigation of riveted beams. He has learned riveting methods in order to reproduce built-up beams with similar characteristics as those fabricated during the late-1800's to mid-1900's. Before returning to school he worked as a design engineer for Sargent Engineers.
