Penelope Stamatakis

Dr. Stamatakis received her doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1987, and upon graduation, joined the Technology Division of the Kerr-McGee Corporation where she worked as a Researcher for several years. Her tenure with Fuel Tech began in 1990 with her primary function being the chemical kinetics modeling of the NOxOUT® process. She subsequently became responsible for the Process Design of all domestic and international SNCR applications, and was named Fuel Tech’s Subject Matter Expert on SNCR. She and her team are tasked with providing the performance guarantees for Fuel Tech’s LNB/OFA, SNCR and ULTRA Air Pollution Control Technologies, with performing boiler performance analysis for Fuel Tech’s targeted in furnace injection processes, and with participating in Research and Development projects. Dr. Stamatakis is the co-author of several technical publications and the co-inventor of three Kerr-McGee patents and one Fuel Tech patent. She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, as well as a member of the Engineering and Science Honor Society of Tau Beta Pi and Science Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
