RJ Karney serves as the American Farm Bureau Federation’s director of congressional relations. His issue portfolio consists of agriculture appropriations, rural broadband deployment, unmanned aircraft systems, rural economic development. AFBF is the nation’s largest organization representing farmers and ranchers. AFBF is the unified national voice of agriculture, working through our grassroots organizations to enhance and strengthen the lives of rural Americans and to build strong, prosperous agricultural communities. RJ has been with the American Farm Bureau Federation for more than 12 years and has held a variety of positions within the organization. He has held the position of director of congressional relations for the last six years. RJ earned a master’s degree in public policy from George Mason University and a bachelor's degree in history from the Catholic University of America. RJ resides in Virginia with his wife, Erin, and sons, Ryan and Brandon.
