Dr. Violeta Martin is a civil engineer with a doctorate degree in hydrotechnical engineering from the University of British Columbia. She is currently involved with hydrotechnical, sediment transport, and impact assessment studies for the hydroelectric and mining industries. Her responsibilities include modelling and design in the fields of river hydraulics, hydrology, wave generation and propagation, as well as pipeline design for slurry and water management applications. Her previous work experience includes over 10 years of experimental and numerical modelling, research and teaching in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia.
