Dr. Slayton is National Medical Director for Outpatient Services for OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions, and has been a clinical leader in managed behavioral healthcare organizations for nearly 20 years. He is a graduate of Brown University, the Stanford University School of Medicine, and Harvard Business School.   He completed adult psychiatry residency training at the Cambridge Hospital, and has participated on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and the Boston University School of Medicine as a residency training director.  Dr. Slayton supports the work of the ALERT team and the Special Investigative Unit of OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions as its senior clinician, and assists OHBS regional care advocacy centers as they help to identify instances of potential waste, fraud and abuse.
