Shimon Richmond is currently the Special Agent in Charge of the OIG’s Miami Region, considered ground zero for health care fraud in the United States.  He has previously served as a supervisor at OIG Headquarters with coordination and oversight responsibilities for OIG’s investigative operations nationwide, as a supervisor in the National Training & Emergency Operations Branch, and as a member of the Medicare Fraud Strike Force in Tampa, Florida.  While in Tampa, he conducted many successful investigations of a variety of health care fraud schemes, resulting in numerous criminal convictions and monetary recoveries.  Prior to joining HHS-OIG, SAC Richmond worked for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and as a local police officer.
