Rick D. Sluder is a Principal, Government Fraud and Data Analytic Solutions at SAS. He is responsible for developing and implementing technology solutions that give government leaders the power to identify fraud, waste, abuse and improper payments at an enterprise level within a government entity. Mr. Sluder has seventeen (17) years of experience working at all levels of the investigative lifecycle, to include White Collar Criminal Investigator (Dallas County, Texas) and CMS Zone Program Integrity Contractor Benefit Integrity Manager (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Colorado). His experience also includes working as an advisory consultant with government and corporate clients throughout North America in creating technology based solutions to combat fraud, waste and abuse in several verticals. Mr. Sluder is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in fraud, waste and abuse detection and prevention. He is adept at incorporating advanced data analytics with traditional investigative methodologies within the healthcare and financial services sectors. Mr. Sluder’s expertise in combating improper payments in Medicare/Medicaid can be highlighted by a $400 million Return on Investment (ROI) in less than six months. In 2012, just four of his major cases identified under his investigative/data analytic operational model resulted in DOJ criminal indictments exceeding $753 million in fraud.
