Dr. Laura Patel is Chief Medical Officer of Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC. Transitions LifeCare is the largest nonprofit hospice and palliative care organization in the region, and now cares for over 5500 patients annually. Since she joined Transitions 3 years ago, Dr. Patel has developed and expanded both inpatient and community based palliative care programs which have seen tremendous growth over that period. Dr. Patel also oversees the Medicare Care Choices program and Transitions Kids, a unique pediatric home based palliative care program.
