Maya Georgieva, M.A., NCC is a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision Doctor of Education program at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She received her master's degree in counseling at Marymount University, and her bachelor's degree in Psychology at Sofia University, Bulgaria. She is an adjunct professor in the counseling department at Marymount University, and President of Mu Upsilon Gamma.  Her interests include integrative theoretical frameworks in counseling, counseling pedagogy, interpersonal neurobiology, expressive arts in counseling, and pro-social behavior. She is currently a Resident in Counseling in Virginia, and works with teens and adults under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
