Ashley Prado, MA, NCC, LPC-Intern. Ashley Prado is a second year doctoral student, graduate research assistant, and teaching assistant in the Department of Counseling at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds a master’s of arts in community counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Ashley served as Secretary of The University of Texas at San Antonio’s Sigma Alpha Chi chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor society from 2014-2015. Ashley has presented at regional and state conferences on topics of shame and guilt in counselor education, trauma-sensitive supervision, end of life care, and advocating for LGBT persons in education and supervision roles. In addition to regional and state conferences, she has presented at national conferences related to educating future counselors on Transgender clients and resolving micro-aggression conflicts for Transgender persons. Furthermore, Ashley’s clinical experience includes working with terminally ill clients and their families in hospice settings and advocating for victims of sexual assault.
