Dr. Monica Z. Osburn is the Director of the Counseling Center at North Carolina State University. Prior to NC State, she was the Director of the Counseling Center at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke for 10 years. She is the Past President of the American College Counseling Association where she is actively involved in encouraging scholarship and practice for college counselors. During her tenure on the Executive Council of ACCA, she has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Orientation and Advanced Track to College Counseling. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Osburn believes in a multidisciplinary approach to college counseling. She is an advocate on a national level for equal access to counseling center jobs and has presented on a multitude of college counseling issues. She is also a member of HEMHA (the higher education mental health alliance) and advisor to the Postvention project which focuses on campus recovery after tragedy and death.
