Dr. Tara Jungersen Ph.D., LMHC, NCC is an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at Nova Southeastern University. She completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Tennessee, and her M.Ed. in Community Counseling at the University of Virginia. She is a licensed mental health counselor, with both individual and group work experience in private practice, community mental health, substance abuse, and schools. She has provided crisis and counseling services to individuals, universities, organizations, first responders, and schools during and after local emergencies (e.g., shootings, fires), and has published on the topic of trauma and crisis. Her research interests include clinical supervision, intimate partner violence, trauma, and treatment access for underserved populations. Dr. Jungersen is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Chi Sigma Iota.
