Colonel Schawn L. Branch was commissioned in the Signal Corps upon graduating from the United States Military Academy in 1993. His first assignment was at Ft. Bragg as a platoon leader in the 514th Signal Company followed by serving as a Platoon Leader in Delta Co. 327th Signal Battalion (ABN), and then as a Battalion S6 for the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (TE) (ABN). His next assignment was in Korea serving as the Battalion S1 for the 307th Signal Battalion and then Commander 226th Signal Company. After his first tour in Korea he completed Advanced Civil schooling and then served as a Company and Battalion TAC Officer at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Following graduation from the Command and General Staff College in 2005, COL Branch returned to Korea where he served as the 2nd Infantry Division G6, Network Operations Officer. After a second tour in Korea he was assigned as the Battalion S3, 54th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal BDE in support of OIF. His next assignment was with 1st Army Headquarters, Ft. Gillem Georgia, as G6 Plans Officer. In 2007, he was again assigned to Korea, this time with Headquarters, US Forces Korea as a J6 Plans Officer and then as the Executive officer for the USFK Chief of Staff. Following his 3rd tour in Korea, COL Branch was assigned to V Corps Headquarters, Wiesbaden Germany where he served as the G6 Chief of Operations, and then deployed with the Headquarters to Afghanistan where he served as the V Corps Deputy G6 and CJ6, Chief of Current Operations ISAF International Joint Command.
