Kirby Garry currently serves as the President for the Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Board of Directors. Garry also serves as chair of the Western Water Polo Association Women's Executive Committee. He served on the NACDA Executive Committee from 2015-2019. Garry just completed his 11th year as Athletics Director and 17th overall at Cal State Monterey Bay. During his time on campus, Garry has played a role in shaping nearly every aspect of Otter Athletics as an NCAA DII intercollegiate athletics program. In the process, he has emerged as nationally respected leader in athletics administration, becoming an influential voice on topics of inclusive leadership, student-athlete well being, development and marketing. Garry provides leadership and support for the Otters’ 13 sports as well as the department’s more than 40 full and part-time administrative and coaching staff members. A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Garry was a football team captain and All-North Central Conference wide receiver at the University of North Dakota. During his student-athlete career, UND won three NCC Championships (1993, 1994, 1995) and twice reached the Division II semi-finals ('93, '94). Garry graduated cum laude from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in social science and received his master’s degree from the University of South Dakota in athletic administration. Garry and his wife Jody have four children: Noah (19), Ben (17), Addy (14) and Grace (11).
