Sarma is an Internal Medicine physician who started Luminare. He and his team have developed a novel way to save lives by addressing the number one cause of death in the US- sepsis. He accelerated the company when his friend’s daughter died of sepsis 4 years ago and invested everything he had in it. Today they have saved numerous lives and intend to save more. Did medical school at the St.Petersburg Pavlov Medical University followed by internal Medicine at the Baylor College of medicine. He was the medical director for a flagship hospital of a fortune 500 chain and has been on numerous process improvement committees at large acute care hospitals in the Houston area. He currently is the sepsis champion of a large level 2 trauma center. Fun fact: He speaks 5 languages and thinks he can play 2 musical instruments and is learning not to lose at chess.
