Thalia Melendez is the Assistant Comptroller for the Division of Diversity Management (DDM). In her role as Assistant Comptroller, Thalia oversees the Reasonable Accommodation and Discrimination/Harassment programs, provide guidance and assistance with EEO Compliance and partners with hiring divisions in outreach and recruiting efforts of protected class members. Prior to joining DDM, Thalia served as Director of Audit Services for NYS Education Department, and was Director of Audit & Quality Control for Pension Integrity Bureau at OSC. In addition to her executive experiences, Thalia gained experience and knowledge of EEO programs and outreach and recruitment activities through her administrative role at NYS Higher Education Services Corp. Currently, Thalia is treasurer and trustee for Girls, Inc., VP of Community Service for AGA’s New York Capital Chapter and committee member for the AGA Council for the Advancement of Women, Finance and Budget Committee, Awards Committee and PDT Technical Committee. Formerly, she was the president of AGA’s New York Capital Chapter, AGA National Senior Vice President, and board director of the College of St. Rose Alumni Board. Thalia holds an MS/BS in Accounting and MS in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from the College of St. Rose.
