Thomas Bland

Thomas Bland Jr. is from Richmond, VA and is currently a Senior Internal Auditor for the Virginia Department of Corrections. Prior to joining VADOC, Thomas was a part of the Internal Audit team at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Before joining state government government via the Commonwealth of Virginia, he worked with Freddie Mac in Tysons Corner, VA, Massey Energy Company and Deloitte in Richmond, VA. Thomas has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Virginia State University and a Master’s in Business Management from University of Maryland (College Park). Thomas is involved with a number of organizations including, of course, The Richmond Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants where he was the President from 2017-2018, now he is the Chair of the Accountability Committee, currently on the Young Professionals Committee, Membership Committee, and a Past President of Toastmasters Club at the Virginia Department of Corrections. Thomas enjoys spending time with friends, family and a good cooked meal every once in a while. Thomas is big on community and is currently going through a SportsBackers Fitness Warrior program to give back to the community in a healthy exercising way.
