Virginia Spencer was born in Connecticut and lived there until she was a young adult before moving to Texas for five years. She has lived in North Carolina since 1981. Her background has been quite varied with focuses on nursing, pharmaceutical sales, retail florist, and 5 years serving as an officer in the U. S. Army Nurse Corps. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in nursing and her master’s degree in business from East Carolina University. She purchased Carolina Creations July 2017 and retired from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. As a business owner in New Bern, She is active in the Coastal Women’s’ Forum and in the New Bern Chamber of Commerce. She volunteers in community committees in her hometown of Bridgeton and also works in support of Beary Merry Christmas in New Bern. For pleasure she is a private pilot, a kayaker, biker, and runner. Her husband of 37 years passed away in February. She has 2 daughters, 4 step-sons and many grandchildren.
