Ted Molter is the Chief Marketing Officer at San Diego Zoo Global. He is dedicated to connecting people to wildlife and engaging their passion to take action and end extinction. Along with his work at San Diego Zoo Global, Mr. Molter is a diver with experience working at aquatic parks who is equally interested in expanding conservancy efforts on the land as well as in the sea. Ted works toward the goal of promoting tourism and ending extinction locally in San Diego through his efforts with leadership positions at San Diego Zoo Global, San Diego Tourism Authority, and Visit California. Mr. Molter came to San Diego Zoo Global in 1998 as the associate marketing director in charge of public relations. In April 2002, he was promoted to director of marketing. Working as the Chief Marketing Officer since 2013, he is responsible for public relations, creative services, advertising and design, website, publications, interpretation, sales, licensing, and partnership marketing activities for the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Safari Park, and the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. Additionally, he helped define the scope of the zoo's 2016 centennial celebration, which resulted in the greatest attendance and revenue in its history, and led organization-wide re-branding efforts for San Diego Zoo and San Diego Safari Park to increase donations, revenue, and awareness of the organizations’ efforts to end extinction and their commitment to wildlife conservation. He is an active member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, IAAPA, the San Diego Tourism Authority, Visit California and the California Travel Association. Ted hopes to help grow opportunities to attract people to entertaining and educational experiences with animals that will contribute to their future well-being. He also strives to find the intersection of passion and ration, ensuring that revenue growth provides a maximum benefit to animals and people
