A native of Victoria, Texas, Jason is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, where he was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in Infantry in 1993. COL Henneke has held command and staff positions across all levels of the Army with assignments in the United States, Haiti, Republic of Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Australia, and Turkey. Prior to his assignment as the Director of the Future Operations of U.S. Army Cyber Command, COL Henneke served as Deputy G5, Plans and Policy, at NATO Land Command Headquarters in Izmir, Turkey. COL Henneke commanded at the company and battalion level and served as the senior plans officer at the division, corps, and theater level, all in combat, and at the national level in the U.S, NATO, and Allied headquarters. COL Henneke has also served as a military intern in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. COL Henneke holds graduate degrees from Georgetown University, Louisiana State University, and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (School of Advanced Military Studies-SAMS). COL Henneke’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (with two oak leaf clusters), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), United Nations Mission in Haiti Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and Korean Service Medals. He wears the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachute, Air Assault wings, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Identification Badge. COL Henneke is the proud father of three children living in Knoxville, TN: Jacob (16), Anna (12), and Jonathon (9).
