She has worked with at-risk youth in inner city and residential treatment settings, and has also provided direct services to human trafficking victims. Laura MacFarland, MSW delivers an interactive presentation that covers what human trafficking is, how to identify it, and how to protect those you love from the dangers of human trafficking. This program can be tailored for youth with specifics on how traffickers recruit, safe practices to reduce vulnerability, and what to do when you suspect human trafficking is occurring. It can also be tailored for adults seeking to learn how traffickers prey on their children, what to look for, and how to report suspected human trafficking. Human Trafficking is a global issue that hits close to home- Florida is #3 in the nation for human trafficking. How can it be so prevalent? Traffickers thrive on the public’s lack of awareness on this issue, which is why it can so easily be hidden in plain sight. Laura MacFarland, MSW delivers an interactive presentation that covers what human trafficking is, how to identify it, and how to protect those you love from the dangers of human trafficking. The first step in ending human trafficking is educating yourself to recognize it when it is occurring.
