Retired U.S. Army Major Gustavo Mendiola is the Engineering Manager and Chief Technical Officer for the Federal Sales team focused on the U.S. Army. In that role, he is responsible for the systems engineering support, customer advocacy and technology adaptation to the U.S. Army in CONUS, Europe and South West Asia for Active, Reserve and National Guard forces.
Prior to joining Cisco, Gus served at the Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer for the 82d Airborne Division. Prior to this assignment, he served in multiple leadership positions throughout the US Army Signal Corps and deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Korea and Bosnia. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
Gus earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Science in Telecommunications Management from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
